Hello, world! Welcome to Latinometrics. We’re a media startup aiming to bring you the best insights and data visualizations about Latin America.

How

Latinometrics allows you to explore the Latin American economy with visual data representations, all in one weekly email. Each week, you’ll receive a short email with three visual stories of the region’s companies, trends, and economies through data visualizations, infographics, and other graphical presentations.

Why

Our purpose is to help LatAm and its stakeholders — entrepreneurs, investors, economists, policymakers, business leaders — make sense of the region’s markets and growth opportunities in a short, digestible format.

About Us

Latinometrics is a joint effort by Mario and Ernesto Canales (yes — we’re related if you were wondering). We grew up in Torreon, Mexico and both attended UT Austin, majoring in Economics. Between the two of us, we have experience spanning companies among the likes of Wayfair, Microsoft, and Mexico’s Foreign Affairs — as well as experience in the real estate sector and launching an e-commerce micro-startup. Ernesto specializes in data analytics, while Mario’s craft is design.
