☀ Domingo Brief — Rio Web Summit Returns
Each Sunday, take two minutes to catch key stories and opportunities shaping Latin America.

Welcome back to the Domingo Brief! This week, we’re keeping up with earthquakes near the Southern Cone, Mexican steel investment losses, and more.
Trivia of the Week 🎯
An impressive 86% of you correctly guessed El Salvador as the Latin American country which has expressed openness to incarcerating deported US citizens. The country’s president, Nayib Bukele, has a strong relationship with US President Donald Trump and has for now agreed to house hundreds of migrants deported by the US in return for $6M a year. Bukele and his infamous CECOT prison have been dropped in the center of an emerging constitutional crisis in the US, as Salvadorian citizen and Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was authorized to stay in the US in a 2019 court hearing, was mistakenly deported and has not been brought back. In an Oval Office meeting in which Bukele claimed he “could not” send Abrego Garcia back, Trump indicated he’d like to send US criminals to El Salvador as well.
Each week, tune back in for the answer to the previous week’s trivia question. No cheating!
