Two-thirds (66%) of you correctly guessed rodeio as the sport showcased by a world-famous festival hosted in the Brazilian city of Barretos. The festival, known as the Festa de Peão de Barretos, or “Cowboy Festival of Barretos” in English, has the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere, attracting close to a million people per year. It originated in 1955, inspired by horse-riding competitions among cowboys transferring cattle from pastures in nearby states like Minas Gerais to slaughterhouses in Barretos.

🇦🇷 Argentina has declared it will lift import tariffs on specific types of electric and hybrid vehicles and cut taxes on high-priced cars and motorcycles. The country will accept up to 50K tariff-free imports of low-cost electric automobiles a year, as well as exempt taxes on cars priced between $39K and $72K. This decision marks a comprehensive government plan to accomplish technological transformation in the automotive industry and develop a sustainable transportation system aligned with global emission reduction trends.
🇧🇷 Brazilian football star Neymar returned to his boyhood club Santos on a short-term contract in a bid to recharge in Brazil ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The footballer most recently played for Saudi Arabian Pro League club Al-Hilal, earning close to $107M per year but ultimately terminating his contract by mutual consent after an injury-riddled 16 month stint. Neymar played 225 matches during his first spell at Santos from 2009 to 2012, scoring 138 goals and winning six titles with the club.
