🇧🇷 Nubank has launched its latest new product offering, NuCel, in partnership with cell-service provider Claro. The new mobile phone service will be gradually rolled out to the local neobank’s 95M Brazilian customers for prices ranging from $8 to $13 a month, offering unlimited calls, free WhatsApp use, and seamless digital management of plans directly through the Nubank app.
🇨🇱 S&P Global Ratings has raised Chile’s credit outlook to stable and maintained its foreign currency rating at A—on par with countries like Israel or Lithuania. This classification is the highest in Latin America, and two notches above second-place Uruguay. Rising debt and reduced fiscal space had led to two S&P ratings cuts since 2017, not helped by growing political polarization and social unrest, though the sitting government of President Gabriel Boric has prioritized cutting the deficit. This year’s budget allowed for a deficit equal to 2.4% of GDP, while next year’s aims for just 2%.
